Sturgis Bank Community

Community Involvement

For over 120 years, Sturgis Bank has been dedicated to strengthening and growing the communities we call home. We believe our role goes far beyond banking—it’s about partnership, service, and lasting impact.

In 2024, we contributed nearly $300,000 to over 150 local organizations, with more than $82,000 specifically supporting Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives such as affordable housing, local nonprofits, and economic development projects. In addition, our team members volunteered over 1,900 hours—including 824 hours directly supporting CRA programs.

Our commitment to education is central to our mission. Originally established in 1991, today our School Savings Program is active in multiple districts, and our outreach includes online education tools and community events. Through financial literacy programs in schools, fraud prevention workshops, and first-time homebuyer classes, we help people of all ages build the knowledge to make confident, informed decisions.

Finally, as a true community lender, Sturgis Bank invests in small businesses, farms, and homebuyers. In 2024, we funded over 180 small business and farm loans and nearly 800 home mortgages, while maintaining a strong commitment to local development needs.

We’re committed to serving as a trusted partner in building vibrant, thriving communities—today and always.
